The Ball Clay Heritage Society

Kelly Mine visitFormed in 2000, the Society exists to preserve, conserve and realise the rich heritage of ball clay production in South and North Devon and Dorset, and to further public knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the industry.

Members meet together to enjoy talks and outings, and are actively involved in conservation and recording the Society’s growing collection of artefacts, archive material and photographs. The Society maintains this website and is working to make its important industrial heritage collection more accessible through displays and exhibitions.
